President 

Tom is a retired attorney. His family has strong ties with Japan. He has been active in conducting the CROP walks for many years. 


Rich Jaworski

Secretary

Rich is retired from the U.S. Department of State, and has lived in many countries around the world.


Chris Boyer

Vice President

Chris retired from a career with Durham City administration.  She has led the Toyama City Committee in developing international exchanges.  

Mark Goodwillie

Treasurer

Mark had a career in education and video production.  He developed our ties with Zhuzhou, China as a Sister City with Durham.   

Bob Ashley

Bob spent many years in the newspaper business, and completed his career as editor of the Durham Herald Sun.

Gwenn Bookman

Gween is an educator with a focus on International affairs.  She also serves as Co-Chair of the Arusha Committee.

Connie Gomez-Joines

Connie is the Director of the Center for the Global Learner at DTCC. She speaks several languages and has quite a list of international places she has visited.   .

Sue Mathias

At Large Director

Sue is an educator, with a focus on languages, especially Japanese.

She has spent time in Japan both as a student and a member of the Toyama City Committee.

Guillermo is from Mexico and works for an international bank as an IT person.  He also serves as Chair of the Celaya City Committee.  

Vivian Wan

Vivian is orginally from China, and has worked with many US non-profit organizations.

Ronda Pierce

Arusha Chair

Ronda is enjoying a career in IT.  She has lived abroad, and has traveled extensively in Africa.

Elsa Jimenez

Celaya Co-Chair

Elsa is a native of Celaya.  Now her career in NC includes a translation business and real estate.

Nancy Proia

Durham, UK Chair

Nancy has many international interests and experiences, especially with visits to friends in England.

Randy Griffin

Kavala  Chair

Randy had an earlier career in Durham's tobacco industry, which took him to Turkey and Greece.  

Anne Berkley

Kostroma Chair

Anne is a retired librarian, having worked with the Durham County Public Library many years.  She has close ties with friends in Kostroma.
